The Verdict
Nat Carasali and Bill Paganetti opened the Peppermill on December 26, 1972, and it still runs at 2985 Las Vegas Blvd S on the North Strip, between Wynn and Resorts World. In 2024 the James Beard Foundation named it an America’s Classics winner, the award it gives long-running, locally loved restaurants. The flagship Peppermill Burger, a half-pound patty on grilled Parmesan sourdough, is $23.95.
The draw is range and hours: mammoth buttermilk pancakes at $22, the French Toast Ambrosia and Pancake Combo at $27.50, and the plate-sized Maserati omelet at $25, served beside the neon and mirrored booths that have appeared in films from Casino to Showgirls. Co-founder Paganetti died in 2023, and the Carasali and Paganetti family company, Peppermill Casinos Inc., still runs it.
The Diner
The kitchen is built for volume and comfort rather than a tasting menu. The Peppermill Burger is $23.95, the three-stack buttermilk pancakes are $22, and the French Toast Ambrosia, a signature since the early years, is $27.50. There is no celebrity chef; the food is the work of a long-running line kitchen under Peppermill Casinos Inc., and portions are deliberately oversized.
The Fireside Lounge
The adjoining Fireside Lounge is the reason many people come: a sunken fire pit set in a pool of water, royal-blue tuck-and-roll booths and a mirrored ceiling. The 64-ounce Scorpion, served flaming and built to share, is the signature pour, alongside a from-scratch Bloody Mary. House wine runs about $13 a glass.
Best for Late-Night and Solo Dining
A 3am Peppermill breakfast in a corner booth is a genuine Las Vegas ritual. With round-the-clock service Thursday through Sunday and counter-friendly seating, it suits solo diners and after-show crowds who want something hearty when the fine-dining rooms have closed.
Not For
Not for anyone after a quiet, modern, small-plate tasting or a refined wine-pairing dinner. The Peppermill is loud, retro and generous by design; diners who want restraint, calm or chef-driven precision should look elsewhere on the Strip.
Reservations
Walk-ins are always welcome, and reservations are taken by phone after 4pm at +1 702-735-4177, with call-ahead seating available. Hours are 7am to 2am Monday to Wednesday and 24 hours Thursday to Sunday. Dress is smart casual, and the Fireside Lounge runs daily happy hours from 3pm.
