About Manna

Manna occupies what was once the ground-floor wine cellar of the Palazzo Nicolaci, a few steps from Noto's baroque heart, and has run since 2014 under a team from Milan. It is one of the most refined rooms in our Noto guide and a highlight of Sicily's contemporary Italian cooking.

The approach is inventive but rooted - Sicilian ingredients reworked according to what the season and the market deliver, plated with care. It draws both locals and travellers exploring the val di Noto's UNESCO baroque towns.

The Kitchen

The cooking celebrates Sicilian produce with a modern hand. Signatures include a Sicilian red-prawn linguine bursting with the sweetness of the catch, a cuttlefish pasta tossed with house-made noodles, and a rabbit terrine that shows the kitchen's precision. Desserts close on a creamy, balanced tiramisu.

Portions are judged and the produce is first-rate, the style traditional at the root but contemporary in execution. The wine list leans Sicilian, matched to the seasonal menu.

The Room

The room is intimate and atmospheric, set in the old stone cellar of a baroque palazzo with a lit courtyard - the kind of space that makes a dinner feel like an occasion. It runs quietly romantic, well suited to a date or a special meal for two.

It is a small dining room and popular with locals and visitors alike, so reservations are strongly recommended, especially in high season.

Best for a romantic dinner or proposal

Manna suits a romantic first date, a special anniversary, or even a proposal in the candlelit cellar. For other Noto tables, compare Crocifisso, Trattoria del Carmine or Prince Belludia.

Not for

Not for a big, casual group night or a quick, cheap bite - it is an intimate, produce-led room built for a slow, dressed-up dinner for two.
