About Shore House

The lobster thermidor arrives under a gratin of Emmental and tarragon-mustard béchamel with wilted baby spinach underneath, and it is the dish to measure this kitchen by. Shore House is the seafood room of The Ritz-Carlton Ras Al Khaimah, Al Hamra Beach, an indoor-outdoor pavilion whose deck tables sit a few steps off the sand. The fish is line-caught by local boats, the oyster-and-champagne order is the house ritual, and Time Out Ras Al Khaimah kept the room on its 25-best list in February 2026.

The Kitchen

The kitchen was rebuilt around Jeremy Degras, the French executive sous chef the resort appointed in June 2021 with a brief to spend most of his time at Shore House. His CV runs through Scape at the Burj Al Arab, the Michelin-starred Le Quartier Gourmand in Tournus and the two-star kitchen at Monte-Carlo Bay in Monaco, and the menu reads like that résumé applied to Gulf fish: Omani jumbo prawns with a Sicilian dressing, salmon teriyaki finished with yuzu espuma and popped rice, and the thermidor above. The simplest orders are the best ones. Whole local fish, grilled and priced by the day's catch, is the format the room was built for, and the wine list is broad enough to cover both the raw bar and the grill. Breakfast runs AED 150 to 200 a head; dinner for two at the emirate's top tables, this one included, clusters around $250 to $350.

The Room

One room, two moods. Daytime is barefoot-adjacent: swim cover-ups on the deck, families off the beach, the Gulf glare softened by canvas. After dark the lighting drops, the music comes up a notch and the same tables read as date territory; Time Out singles out that evening shift as the reason to book. Sound stays conversation-easy on the deck and livelier inside. Dress is beach-casual until sunset, smart-casual after. The deck's front row goes first; ask for it when you book.

Best for an Anniversary

Book Shore House for an anniversary because the timing works in your favour: a 5pm drink catches the half-price cocktail window that runs 4pm to 6pm, sunset lands over the Gulf, and the room shifts from beach deck to low-lit dinner service in a single sitting. Order the oysters and a bottle, then the thermidor. Compare the anniversary shortlist and the steakhouse alternative at Lexington Grill & Bar before you commit.

Not for

Skip it if you want steak. The kitchen is built around the raw bar and line-caught fish; the emirate's serious red-meat room is Lexington at the Waldorf.

Frequently Asked

Is Shore House worth it?

Yes, if seafood and setting are the point of the evening. The cooking is resort-polished rather than destination-level, but the combination of line-caught Gulf fish, a proper raw bar and tables a few steps from the water has no local rival, which is why Time Out kept it on the emirate's 25-best list in 2026. How do I book a table at Shore House?

Reserve through the Ritz-Carlton's dining desk or call +971 54 791 0724. The restaurant serves daily from 7am to 11pm, and you do not need to be a hotel guest to eat here. In the cooler months, ask specifically for the beach-deck front row at sunset; those tables are the first to go on weekend evenings.

What is the dress code at Shore House?

Beach-casual through the day and smart-casual after sunset. The room runs both registers deliberately: cover-ups and sandy feet are normal at lunch on the deck, while the evening service dims the lights and expects collared shirts and dresses. If you are coming straight from the pool for dinner, change first.

What does a meal at Shore House cost?

Recent diners put breakfast at AED 150 to 200 a head. At dinner, expect the bill to land where Ras Al Khaimah's top hotel tables cluster, roughly $250 to $350 for two with a bottle, before the oyster-and-champagne upsell. The 4pm to 6pm half-price cocktail window is the value play; time an anniversary booking around it.

What should I order at Shore House?

The lobster thermidor with Emmental and tarragon-mustard béchamel is the signature and worth its price. Beyond that: Omani jumbo prawns with Sicilian dressing, whatever whole fish the local boats landed that morning, and the salmon teriyaki with yuzu espuma if you want the kitchen showing technique.
